Trends to keep for winter 08

There is a definite chill in the air – and that means that the time to bring out jumpers and scarves will soon be upon us. But don’t send all of your clothes from winters past to the op shop just yet – some trends from 2007 are sticking around for another year. We tell you what to keep for the upcoming season.

DRESSED TO KILT :
Seattle grunge and deep blue or purple tartans are going to be the hottest ticket this winter.
LAYER UPON LAYER:
Keep hold of anything you can use to layer up with; it is the best way to stay warm instead of bulking up with cumbersome jumpers or coats, and makes it easier to cope with dramatic changes in temperature.
GET THE SKINNY:
Winter 2007 proved skinny jeans were here to stay. This season, wear them with a loose, flowing top, tunic or sweater dress, cinch the waist with a wide belt and match with a pair of ankle boots or ballet flats.
LEG IT:
Everyone should be thrilled leggings are still kicking around – they provide an extra layer of insulation as well as make any look stylish. This will be their last season in fashion, so make the best of it.
